Searching more efficiently... and finding what you need!

Here are a few ideas for improving the results of searches:

Use specific words rather than generic categories.
For example, instead of searching for "reels," search for a specific brand of reel.

Use quotation marks to search for specific phrases. Surrounding terms with quotation marks limits the search results to only those items that contain the exact phrase you've specified. Without the quotation marks, the results will include any item that contains the words you've used, regardless of what order those words are in.
For instance, if you type the following query:"shimano reels"
The server will literally look for the complete phrase Shimano Reels.
But if you type the same query without the quotation marks:
shimano reels
The server searches all documents for the words shimano and reels.

Eliminate common words such as "a," "my," or "the," unless you're looking for a specific title. If the word is part of something you're looking for, include the common word and surround the phrase with quotation marks.

Search only a specific item unless you want to see them all.
Narrow the search to a specific item by typing the exact search term you're looking for.
For example, to search the website for information about Shimano Reels, type Shimano Reels or if you want all reels, then type Reels.

Look for words with the same prefix. For example, in your query form type key* to find key, keying, keyhole, keyboard, and so on.

Search for all forms of a word. For example, in the form type sink** to find sink, sinking, sank, and sunk.
